APAM Scholarship Awards

The APAM Scholarship Program seeks to ensure the future of the asphalt industry and that of asphalt as America’s leading choice in paving materials. The scholarship program offers an incentive for engineering students to select courses in asphalt technology, a workforce with training in asphalt technology; and an incentive for colleges/universities to offer training in asphalt technology. 
At the 2007 Awards Banquet for $1000 awards were given.  The recipients were Baron Colbert, Phd student at Michigan Tech, James Bell, a Junior at Michigan Tech, David McKelvie, Eastern Michigan Senior and Justin Sterenburg, a Junior at Ferris State University.

Both Baron and James could not attend the banquet.

Michigan Construction Quality Partnership (CQP) Achievement Award

The CQP Achievement Award is given to the best highway construction project. Applications are judged by persons involved in highway design, construction and quality.  This is the first time that a Michigan company has won. Saginaw Asphalt Paving Co. in partnership with MDOT, Walter Toebe Construction and DLZ were the first recipents of this award.  The project was the I-75 / M-81 Interchange Reconstruction Project.  The project included reconstruction of a critical condition bridge and construction of 2 roundabouts.  Congratulations to Saginaw Asphalt Paving Co. for their part in this project!
